Early March gave our first opportunity work in the stunning new Wedding venue at Middleton lodge, ‘The Fig House.’ When we were approached by Nicola Dixon to create florals for a styled shoot for ‘The Wild Ones Community’ photography workshop, we couldn’t wait to get into the space, and be inspired by this beautiful romantic rustic venue. There are so many characterful reference points and places off interest in this venue, from the living growing fig trees, to the original archway linking the bar and dining spaces. We really do feel that this space could soon become one of our favourites to dress.
It is always so special too see new venues, especially ones that have been restored in such a sympathetic and stylish way. We already have a few bookings this year at the venue, so seeing it its finished state was really inspiring for us.
Louise at One Stylish Day came up with a concept, design and styling for the day. We wanted to create the perfect mix and delicate feminity and modern luxury. We decided upon a palette of Ivory, Blush, Peach, Coral and Nude tones to fulfil this brief.
The floral mix featured the beautiful Sahara Rose, triumphant Tuberose, delicate Spiraea with pops of fluffy ‘bunny tails’, floaty butterfly ranunculus, and scented white lilac, whilst incorporating the stunning architectural anthurium, which gave real textural interest to the designs.
The warm peach tones against the accent colour of smoky grey worked so well, and felt fresh and modern when used in the table centrepieces and urn design.
