Rustic Beauty at Newby Hall

August 2, 2018

In early May Laura married Lawrence in a beautiful ceremony at Newton on Ouse church followed by their reception held in a Papakata Sperry in the grounds of Newby Hall.

From the outset this couple had real style and strong image of the floral theme for their day. They were keen to encorporate a heavy use of stunning mixed foliage in all aspects from chandeliers to bouquets. Lucy Wright Wedding and Events was on hand to meticulously plan their day to perfection and Dominic Wright photography did a wonderful job of capturing the day in a truly beautiful way.

To compliment the farmhouse tables we used bustling garlands with delicate flower heads dotted throughout. These garlands were a real triumph spanning in total nearly 200 feet in length!

Laura decided upon the use of succulents and tonal candles mixed with copper accents to dress the tables. The over all look was so stylish it almost transported us to a feeling of alfresco dining in rural Tuscany!

A stunning range of Summer flowers and seasonal foliage were chosen featuring Roses, Spray Roses, Peonies, Wax Flower, Hydrangea, Sweetpeas, Stocks, Astrantia, Scabious, Astilbe and Lisianthus.

Lots of mixed textured foliage in different shades of green such as Olive, mixed varieties of Eucalyptus including berried Eucalyptus, grey Dusty Miller and Senecio were combined with the flowers to create very natural, stylish and elegant designs.

Succulents were used in both the Bridal bouquet and the button holes to link all the floral aspects on the day.

Poppy pickering did a spectacular job in replicating these beauties and using copper accents on her cake design which stood proudly at the entrance of the Sperry.

A fresh and stylish palette of white and ivory flowers were chosen with an abundance of luscious foliage.

Lauras bouquet was a pure delight featuring Garden Roses, Spray Roses, Sweet Peas, Lisianthus, Scabious, Astrantia, Astilbe, Wax Flower and Succulents. The bouquet was finished with trailing silk ribbon which gave the perfect finishing touch.
